Interdependence Day: A Different Kind of Patriotism

What True Patriotism Looks Like: Interdependence, Sustainability & Small-Batch Cannabis on the 4th of July

As fireworks light the sky and grills fire up across the country, the 4th of July often feels like a celebration of independence — from kings, from constraints, from whatever came before. But at Emerald Visions, we believe this holiday is also an opportunity to reflect on something deeper: interdependence.

Yes, independence built this nation. But it’s interdependence that will sustain it.

Our farm, nestled along the edge of Lake Champlain in Alburgh, Vermont, is built on the recognition that nothing thrives in isolation. We depend on the sun, even indoors. We depend on clean water, on healthy air, on living soil ecosystems (even when growing in coco). We depend on our team, on our retail partners, on the community that shows up every time we drop a new strain. And the truth is — you depend on us, too. For quality. For transparency. For flower that actually delivers what it promises.

So this 4th of July, we’re not just celebrating freedom — we’re celebrating connection.

🌱

Sustainable Cannabis Is Patriotic

In a time where corporate consolidation is swallowing entire sectors, small farms like ours are holding the line. We’re proud to be Vermont Tier 1 indoor cultivators, self-funded, family-grown, and guided by values that prioritize quality over quantity and community over competition.

Sustainability, to us, isn’t just about packaging (though we’re working on that, too). It’s about growing with intention — using low-waste irrigation systems, cutting nitrogen before flush, minimizing synthetic inputs, and focusing on small-batch drops so every jar stays fresh and meaningful. That’s not just farming. That’s stewardship.

That’s patriotism.

BTW Where Are your Terpene Results? Here’s the Deal.

We know a lot of you are passionate about terpenes — and so are we. But if you’re searching for current terpene results on all of our strains and not finding them, here’s why:

As a small-batch cultivator in a fiercely competitive market, we’ve made the intentional decision to limit terpene testing to the first 2–3 full runs of each strain. Once we’ve established a reliable terpene profile and understand how a cultivar expresses itself in our environment, we pause routine testing to keep costs down and our flower accessible.

So if you don’t see fresh test data on your favorite strain, know that it’s not an oversight — it’s a strategic decision to protect our margins while still delivering elite flower. You can always refer to previous lab results (available via QR code or on our website), and we’re happy to talk about aroma, flavor, and effects any time. Ask your budtender — or better yet, message us directly.

💚 A Final Thought: Grow Together

In cannabis, just like in country, we grow stronger together. Whether you’re lighting up a pre-roll with friends, tending your backyard garden, or organizing for more equitable regulations in your community — you’re part of something bigger.

We’re proud to be part of the patchwork. And we’re grateful you’re here with us.

Happy Interdependence Day from all of us at Emerald Visions.
